Son of Lambert's Cafe owner no longer facing child sex-crime charges

Benjamin Lambert

Mental health issues prompt a judge to dismiss child sex-crime charges against the son of the Lambert's Cafe founder.

Benjamin Lambert, 52, of Ozark, was arrested in the Fall of 2018 for allegedly enticing two children to engage in sex acts for money, videotaping them during the acts, and using his home for prostitution purposes.

The Springfield News-Leader reports those charges were dropped by a Christian County judge Wednesday.  The News-Leader reports Lambert suffers from a number of mental-health issues including dementia.  He's currently living in a nursing home.

Lambert's father is the founder of Lambert's Cafe; "the home of the throwed roll".  The first restaurant opened almost 80 years ago in Sikeston.
