The Missouri legislature will look at a lot of bills that deal with gun violence in the state’s big cities. Trying to do something about it is a top priority of the Parson administration. Republicans say they will tread lightly around second amendment issues. Senate Democratic leader Gina Walsh represents North St. Louis County. She says something has to be done about firearms in the hands of criminals.
Walsh says she can sit on her back porch on a weekend and hear gun fire from weapons that are made only to kill other human beings. She says the next generation is killing itself...and something has to be done.
Walsh says her opinion on guns is not popular outside of St. Louis, but she thinks some compromise can be struck to help deal the epidemic of gun violence.
