State Senate leader says redstricting change "a bi-partisan issue"

One of the first issues to be brought to the Senate floor this session…will be the way the state is divided into voting districts. Missouri voters in November 2018 voted to back a change to the state constitution and put the redistricting process in the hands of a state demographer. Republican State Senators want to change that back to the way it’s traditionally done…through the legislature and the judiciary. Senate leader Dave Schatz, a Republican from Sullivan says this is not just a Republican issue.

The Senate bill would put the change to a vote of the people this coming November.
