Stephens College in Columbia honors one of its own, a woman who has made history in space.

The college declared that Tuesday was Wally Funk Day.  Funk, who is 82, graduated from Stephens in 1958.  On Tuesday, she became the oldest person to travel to space, hitching a ride on Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket.

Stephens College officials held a watch party Tuesday to cheer Funk on.
