Nine people die on Missouri roads this Thanksgiving holiday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the majority of fatalities were reported in the St. Louis area and unsafe road conditions contributed to a number of the crashes.
The Water Patrol reports there were three drownings over the holiday weekend, all occurring in southeast Missouri's Bollinger County. The first involved two juveniles who drowned when the car they were riding in was swept away by flood waters.
The second incident involved an out-pf-state man who drove through a flooded, low-water crossing and was swept downstream.
One pedestrian fatality was reported. A Springfield man was killed last night while attempting to cross a highway just west of his hometown.
