Three teens, who lived at a behavioral health facility in Phelps County escape, and now two are charged with murder.

Cody Armistead, 17, and Enoch Phillips, 18, were arrested last Friday and charged with first-degree murder for allegedly killing a 15-year-old victim.

Court documents state the trio escaped from Great Circle in St. James last Wednesday.  Armistead and Phillips returned to the facility the following day, without the 15 year old.

Armistead allegedly confided to fellow patients that he and Phillips had killed the teen.   He later took police to the teen’s body, which was in a field in St. James.

Court documents state both Armistead and Phillips have implicated each other in the murder, saying they both beat the victim, then took turns strangling him to death.
