If you’re interested in working for the state, you can check out a virtual career fair Tuesday afternoon. Missouri’s Division of Workforce Development began hosting its Return Strong virtual career fairs last year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Director Mardy Leathers says they were very successful and useful to both employers and job seekers.
“So it really is an online virtual matching framework where individuals can log in, see the different rooms that employers have set up and then they can actually conduct an on-the-spot interview using video conferencing right there.”
There will be a virtual career fair held every other week through June of this year. Leathers says over 5,000 people and 500 employers have participated so far, and nearly 700 people have registered for today’s event, which runs from 10 to 2. This event is only open to state government employers, but future fairs will include many different types of businesses. To register, go to returnstrongmo.easyvirtualfair.com.
