Low numbers at a Moniteau County mass vaccination clinic prompt health officials to no longer require prior registration.
During the first day of yesterday’s event, only about 25 percent of 2,000 appointments were filled for the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Health department officials say if you’re not registered via the state’s Vaccine Navigator you can get registered at today’s event and still get your shot. The event is at the United Church of Christ in California. Any leftover doses will be administered to homebound patients and nearby county health departments.
Meanwhile, two additional vaccine events are scheduled today in mid-Missouri. One is in Mexico at the Presser Performing Arts Center from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. No appointments are needed. The second is in Fayette at Central Methodist University. To make an appointment for that event, visit the Fitzgibbon Hospital website.
