They may be flocking to the polls in New Hampshire today for the presidential primary there…but Cole County’s top elections official doesn’t see that kind of turnout for the March 10th Missouri primary. Steve Korsmeyer says early ballots return show a downturn over four years ago.
Korsmeyer says by the returns of ballots he has sent out already, he's looking at a 30 percent turnout compared to 40 percent in 2016.
Tomorrow is the deadline to make sure you are registered to vote in the March 10th primary. Korsmeyer says his office in the courthouse annex will be open until 5 p.m. both today and tomorrow…despite tomorrow being a federal holiday. He says bring a form of i.d. with your name on it when you come to register. In the 2016 primary, Democratic voters chose Hillary Clinton, Republicans went with Rick Santorum.
